lyrics

Climbing out of the car one last time,
I wonder who will tell your parents that you've died.
I think about your morning routine,
If you knew then that it'd be you or me.
I tried to give you the kiss of life,
But lungs cannot inflate with a broken pipe.
I waved my hands till someone stopped.
Then there were two of us who didn't know what to do.

And after the small but lovely funeral,
I sat with your friends and drank some of your parents wine.
Weeks later as I climbed into bed, that's when the tears came.
